ziziAfrique is currently supporting VSO Kenya to lead an assorted team comprising of government officers, development actors and project participants in accomplishing various tasks including the development or adaptation of learning assessment tools, teachers need assessment analysis tool, functional literacy (English and Kiswahili), and numeracy curriculum. Additionally, VSO is leading the process of developing learning materials, functional literacy, and numeracy teaching. While developing the required materials, ziziAfrique has ensured that the curriculum and materials developed are relevant to the targeted cohort of 10-19 years, are age appropriate and cognizant of gender and inclusion aspects which are core to the project design. In addition, the curriculum and materials have been informed by gaps in skills and competences identified through administration of the learning assessments for girls and skills’ gaps analysis for the volunteer teachers.
